Global Youth Service Day

This is a great event.

We usually report to Highland park in the South End to pick up trash, paint, mulch, etc.

When we are done there is a big pizza party at the Toledo Zoo which is really close (walking distance).

We have been assigned the Ravine Park area on the east side.

Meet at the parking lot at the end of Colorado St.

The parking lot is close to the I-280 Bridge.

Kids under 18 need to have a signed release form.

Toys for Tots

Senior Erica Lee has organized an effort at TECHS to collect new and gently-used toys for Toys for Tots.

Food Drive

TECHS is once again participating in a campus-wide food drive.

We collected around 200 pounds with the Ohio State/Michigan contest.

The next event will be a contest to see which advisory can collect the most canned and non-perishable food goods (per capita).

The good people at Vito's have agreed to treat the wining advisory to a pizza lunch.

The food is going to The MLK Kitchen for the Poor

Some TECHS students and I also have an ongoing relationship with the Seagate Food Bank and may be volunteering there over break.
